Petroleum Systems Limited is a UK registered company specialising in geochemical appraisal, interpretation and basin modelling. Whilst the company was only started in 2012, it was set up by two experienced oil and gas geoscientists, James Armstrong and Simon Kendall. Each of these personnel have in excess of 30 years industry experience.
The company was incorporated as a UK Company in November 2012 and is based in Prestatyn, North Wales with additional office facilities located in Colwyn Bay. The company operates on a world-wide basis and over the past two years has tackled projects In Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and South America. Such project have frequently been of short duration, reviewing existing geochemical databases, providing reports that enhance understanding of exploration prospects to meet Client demands.

Petroleum Systems Limited has the capability to undertake petroleum geochemistry studies of differing sizes and complexities. Such studies can involve, cuttings, core, oil, gas or field samples. Petroleum Systems Limited work with laboratories worldwide to attain high quality data quickly and cost effectively. Detailed interpretation of the resultant data is performed by Petroleum Systems Limited. Alternatively, we are able to re-evaluate legacy data-sets in doing so, recommend infill analyses or integrate with newly generated data.
GEOCHEMISTRY
Petroleum Systems Limited has a wealth of experience in the development and delivery of regional studies that integrate geochemical data with other geoscientific disciplines. We have worked on such projects worldwide researching all types of petroliferous basins analysing and integrating complex geological data from a variety of sources. Such studies vary from farm-in appraisal of a block for a single client to management of large scale regional studies for multiple clients, working with a variety of different teams.
REGIONAL STUDIES
In addition to the broad range of geochemical and regional studies, Petroleum Systems Limited can also offer exploration-oriented 1D basin modelling, either as a stand-alone evaluation studies or as part of regional assessments. In order to achieve this Petroleum Systems Limited utilise Sirius Exploration Geochemistry Inc’s Novva software that employs an extensive library of kerogen kinetics to provide maximum flexibility in such undertakings in attempting to solve these open-ended exploration problems.
